Scott Farnsworth is an independent, self-employed barrister and a qualified solicitor. Called to the Bar of England and Wales by the Inner Temple in 1991, Scott practised from chambers in his home city of Nottingham, when in 1994 he moved to London and practised in-house as counsel to the City law firms of McKenna & Co and Baker & McKenzie. Scott was admitted as a solicitor of England and Wales in 1998 and became solicitor-advocate (civil) in 1999. Scott practised as a partner with the London law firm of Roiter Zucker until 2004, when he returned to Nottingham and practised as a partner with the law firm of Berryman until 2010. Scott is authorised to undertake public access work.
Scott has specialised in intellectual property law and practise for over 27 years, including legal practises within the life sciences sector for more than 24 years. Scott has acquired an extensive knowledge and understanding of transactional work, deal structures, and compensation models in many scientific and technological fields across Europe, the United States, and Asia-Pacific regions, often as external counsel to corporations outside of the United Kingdom. Scott is the author of numerous articles and papers regarding intellectual property law and legal practises within the life sciences sector and has presented at national and international seminars and conferences.
